  • Young Inventor's Challenge 2022

    The team was delighted to achieve a silver award in the YIC 2022. The initial entries of 1000 were whittled down to 21 and after a question and answer session Ardingly Ifield Solar achieved a silver award.

  • MBE for Services to Education

    Dr Andrew Spiers was made an MBE in recognition of his services to education.

    On discovering his nomination, he said: “I’m very honoured to receive an MBE. I never dreamt I would receive such an award – it’s such a wonderful surprise to be recognised in this way. I’m very lucky that every day I combine the two things I love most: science and teaching.

  • Prince Albert II of Monaco Medal

    HSH Price Albert II awarded this medal on a visit to Ardingly College in April 2018 for the team’s contribution to sustainable transport.

    His foundation is patron of our second car, the Basking Beastie.

  • TES STEM Project of the Year 2020

    Ifield Community College and Ardingly College won the Times Educational Supplement Science, Technology and Engineering Team of the Year. Lead judge Jo Foster said that the project was “absolutely exemplary”. She added: “From success in international racing events to effective outreach to other schools both at home and abroad, this project goes the extra mile.

    This award was recognition of the excellence of the project and the commitment of the two schools to science and technology education.
